Kellogg Company and Enel Green Power: Nourishing the World Sustainably
Kellogg Company, a world-leading producer of cereal and convenience foods, isn’t just dedicated to feeding people, but fulfilling them. As part of Kellogg’s Better Days strategy to nurture people and the planet, the food company is committed to achieving 100% renewable electricity across its operations. Through its partnership with Enel Green Power at the Azure Sky wind farm in Texas, it's making major strides in its mission to address climate change.
Nurturing our planet with sustainable energy
Kellogg’s Better Days sustainability strategy aims to drive positive change for people, communities and the planet. As a member of RE100, Kellogg is committed to supporting its operations with 100% renewable energy sources by 2050.
In 2021, Kellogg took a significant step toward its renewable electricity goal when it announced a virtual power purchase agreement (VPPA) with Enel Green Power. With this VPPA, Kellogg will purchase the electricity equivalent of a 100 MW portion of Enel Green Power's Azure Sky wind farm each year. This partnership will enable Kellogg to meet the electricity needs of 50% of its US energy load by 2022 and reduce Scope 1 & 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 65%.
