About the project

The Gibson Bay Wind Farm

The Gibson Bay Wind Farm project is located in the Kouga Municipality in the Eastern Cape province. It is near the Indian Ocean coast and is the Enel Group’s second wind farm project in South Africa.

It contains 373 MW Nordex Delta wind turbines and is capable of generating approximately 420 GWh per year, which corresponds to the annual consumption needs of around 131,000 South African households, therefore avoiding the emission of over 383,000 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere each year.
