Cristiano Bussi is Head of Planning and Control at Enel Green Power and Thermal Generation, the Enel Business Line that deals with the generation of energy from both renewable and conventional sources.
Cristiano, who was born in Livorno in 1976, has a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Pisa. He first came into contact with Enel in 2001 when, shortly after graduating, he worked as an intern at the Enel Research Center in Pisa — in collaboration with the Faculty of Engineering. In 2011, he took part in the “Leadership for Energy” Management Program at the SDA Bocconi School of Management and the IESE Business School.
He joined Enel in 2002 as Planning and Control Manager for various renewable and thermoelectric power plants and supply chains in Italy, working directly on site. He was promoted to the position of Planning and Control Manager for Generation in Italy in 2014 and subsequently moved into more international roles in the Global Power Generation Business Line, first as Head of Operational Control and then as Head of Operational Performance Optimization at Thermal Generation. In 2018 he went back to Administration, Finance and Control as Head of Planning and Control for the Thermal Generation Business Line (which was joined by Enel Green Power in 2019). He was also a member of the Board of Directors at the Chilean company Enel Generación Chile.
Cristiano is married and is the father of two children. He likes running and is a big fan of the Italian soccer team Juventus. His other passions in life include travel and cinema.
